I have no idea how it’s even possible, but if you listen to My Baby Just Cares For Me, from this same show, it sounds Iike she’s playing a totally different piano. She had magic in her fingers. But she suffered terribly for her art.
No better pair than Nina Simone and a Bösendorffer. This audience was so lucky to be there to witness and her tanscendent Bach inspired My Baby Just Cares For Me. Every time I watch videos from this concert, I feel like I'm witnessing her apotheosis.
Nina Simone was born in North Carolina, USA. Why would anyone ever go to that shit-hole traitorous State, let alone any other of numerous crap States in the USA that, like North Carolina, wants to elect a wannabe dictator in 2024 like Trump? I’m ashamed to be US citizen; but, thankfully I have dual US/German citizenship and will renounce my US citizenship in 2024 absolutely, when I permanently move to Germany in 2024.
Never heardthis song sung and played more powerfully. Amazing performance. Very emotional...such a different approach to this piece...one that gives it more meaning and depth and even the pain of love as it sometimes renders itself. Such excellence.
this is truly the most powerful performance i've ever seen. nina was always such an incredible performer but particularly here you can see all the raw emotion going through her entire body as she belts out those final notes and literally jumps out of her seat as soon as she's done because it all just gets so much. she went through so much in her life and it's like she expresses all of it at once in those final moments. we are so lucky she left so many incredible recordings for us
@Maria Carter This is the Montreaux Jazz Festival, in Switzerland, In the summer. It’s a very laid back venue. I’ve been twice. It’s common for artists to attend other artist’s sets and will perform upon request. She probably just left the pool and came to hear someone else’s set, and someone saw her and asked her to play.
My hart opens wide for this song by our diva. Love flows through my body for her singing and pianoplaying.❤
A esas alturas de su carrera, su arte habla por sí sola, aunque su imagen como Artista deja mucho que desear. Que pasó Miss Simone???

I love her use of the best piano in the world, a concert Bösendorfer, hand-crafted in Wien (Vienna). What a beautiful piano.
I love this song. 11-10-23
She changed the whole song and it was such an amazing experience listening to it!
I named my cat after Nina Simone. I absolutely adore her! She is mesmerizing!
Very very wonderful
I love you, Nina ❤️
Powerful and Vulnerable at the same time! Brilliant!

Wow!!!
beauty is beauty on its own terms, not a contest but - there - is - no one - better. the concert as a whole is a life-changer.
She looks very masculine in this clip.
What an experience to have been at the place she was performing Live . . . Another for The Ages Greatest of All Times [my] list […anyhow,no doubt !]
Belleza enorme!
Wowww!!! The piano!
Absolutely brilliant. That intro, it's just out of this world. The skies open, and then slowly a vulnerable voice appear between the clouds.
I don't know if I prefer the pianist or the singer. A superb performance!
WOW!
as if there were many hands playing piano and yet still sounds perfectly to the voice.
Yeeeeah man! Just yeah! A uniqueness as bright as the sun, real close up you almost combust! Bring the heat Nina!
Sometimes, rarely, does a performance have so much power and meaning. Simple lyrics turned into a cry out for humanity and recognition.
Simply Awful,,,,
wow
Legend, absolute legend, tears falling dow at this performance
The world is miss this music.
Beautiful, crying now.
Sie beherrscht die Klaviatur des Bösendorfer hervorragend.

YT you're doing a hell of a job.🤗😁🏅
Nina made the piano sound richer than a full orchestra
I don't know a more vulnerable singer
beautiful

Holy Jack - I almost wish she only played the piano from start to end. She's amazing.

This is some good sobbing I’m doing over here, thanks Nina❤️
The piano playing, as always, is masterful. The vocal treatment, unlike usually, is not up to her standards. The outfit is horrendous. Sorry.
Outfit? Why your interest in such trivia! Just listen again. The piano and voice are both masterful and carry the key to my heart.

@Maria Carter Thanks. I didn't know that. You changed my opinion re the outfit.
